LadyGrace is introduced to a companion horse
that will teach her Horse Manners

Here's Wisdom - She's a 20 year old Belgium rescue horse.
Very gentle and BEAUTIFUL!

When I first brought Wisdom home, just her size scared little LadyGrace. I kept them separated in the two stalls for a few days, then let one out at a time. Eventually I very cautiously let both of them out together. LadyGrace was curious and Wisdom was NOT going to let her nip at her. I knew this would be challenging both for myself and as well as for Wisdom. After all, she's past the mothering stage. I'm sure she was wondering why life had taken her to a babysitting position. She's so much more than that!

For months I would watch them closely. The good news is that LadyGrace is learning horse manners. From time to time I see the both of them grooming each other. It fascinates me to see them do this. LadyGrace is not as tall but has learned how to groom! Horses are so fascinating....

Winter is finally over and the two are anxious for a larger paddock. Do they get along? Most of the time.

LadyGrace has learned to respect Wisdom's space. But you should see her when she doesn't get her way!

I love both of them. Their personalities are so different.

One is young and has a lot to learn - she's excited and loves to romp around...

The other has learned many lessons throughout the years and just wants to enjoy the hay, grass... be loved, pampered and just look out at the world.

Wisdom offers WISDOM all the the time.

They have both taught me patience and to stop worrying so much!

Oh yes, I do hope you have listened to the last interview by Dr. Ross.

LadyGrace is doing much better than it was thought possible. Dr. Ross is now encouraged that she will be sound and that surgery is a real possibility!

We were all so happy to hear the good news.....

What have I learned?

That even horses have their own set of rules.

That they must be trusted to do what they do.....

Wisdom walks up to me to let me know that she wants to be groomed, scratched, etc. She is very, very exact about what she wants.

LadyGrace on the other hand is learning to enjoy my grooming her... it's a matter of getting her standing still long enough.

There is a world to explore out there and she wants to do just that!

The two are fascinating and I have learned to trust in the fascination of it all....
